Science Fair

Leeds City Museum

All Welcome

From the local wildlife on our doorstep to the stars above us, join Leeds Philosophical and Literary Society in our annual celebration of the wonders of the natural world, including exhibits from Rodley Nature Reserve, the Leeds Astronomical Society, Mathsworld and the Woodland Trust.

Plus learn how a spider led to an astronomical breakthrough, and the wool industry of West Yorkshire helped unravel the secrets of DNA, the genetic molecule…all will be explained in our two latest booklets ‘William Gascoigne – Leeds Astronomer – or How a Spider Placed Leeds at the Forefront of the Scientific Revolution’ by David Sellers, and ‘From Dark Satanic Mills to DNA: How Science in Leeds Changed the World’ by Kersten Hall – both of which will be on sale for only £6 each to non-members of LPLS.
